About Dr. Kathleen Cary
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I have extensive experience treating adults with a variety of disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse and with those suffering from maladaptive coping strategies. I also work with individuals who are unhappy with their relationships, their careers and those having difficulty with life transitions. I appreciate working with people who present to therapy with a curiosity to understand themselves more fully.
Therapy is an experience of collaboration and trust. I tailor my approach to each individual’s needs and preferences. I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment and work from a strength-based perspective. I am interactive, not shying away from giving feedback, but fundamentally believe each individual has the capacity to set their own goals and measure their own success. I use evidence-based practices drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and psychodynamic approaches to assist you in understanding and changing issues that prevent you from living a “life worth living.”
